Workshops&Training Programs organised by the Department:

  1. The Department of Civil Engineering organized a guest lecture on November 8, 2022, for the 7th-semester students focusing on preparing for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) exam. The esteemed alumna, Miss Savita Bhovi, who recently qualified in GATE and is currently pursuing M. Arch. at the School of Planning & Architecture, Vijayawada, served as the speaker for the lecture. Department of Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Information Science in association with Karnataka state pollution control board organised a seminar on “International E waste Day” on 14/10/2022. Shri, Venkatesha Murthy founder of VANS Group of companies Singapore and Dr Basavaraj Manu Associate Professor NITK Suratkal were the resource persons.

BLDEA’S VP DR PGH CET, Department of Civil Engineering has organised a technical seminar on 21st century skills for professional success by the resource person Venkatesh Raghavendra, vice president for the safe water work,on 6/7/22, attendees for the seminar were the students of civil engineering, HOD’S and Faculties of various Department’s, Chief Academic Coordinator,Principal and Vice Principal’s.



     



  3. One-week AICTE Sponsored Online Faculty Development Programme for which a grant of One Lakh Rupees was received on Topic “Advance surveying using total station and Drone” was organized from 7th to 11th February 2022.

  4. One-week AICTE Sponsored online ATAL-FDP  for which a grant of One Lakh Rupees was received on Topic “Advances in Construction Techniques” was organized from 3rd to 7th  Janauary 2022. Jagadesh, Principal Consultant, ZD Consultants, Bengaluru, (Dr. S.M. Murnal, Dean Academics, AIEMS, Bengaluru, Dr. Bibhuti Bhusan Das, GIAN Coordinator, NITK Surathkal, Dr. G.R. Dodagoudar, Professor, IIT Madras, Dr. R.B. Khadiranaikar, Professor, BEC, Bagalkot, & Er. S. Satyanarayan, Director, Consols, Bengaluru were the resource persons. Dr. Asif Iqbal Momin was the FDP Coordinator.

  5. A workshop on “Road Safety Awareness” was organized on 12th October 2021 in association with Indinfravit, Vijayapur. Mr. Arun Kumar, Route Officer, Indinfravit,  & Mr. Arunendra Prathap Singh, Route Operations Manager were the resource persons.

  6. An online workshop on “Water & Land Management- Challenges & Role of Engineers” was organized on 30th September 2021. Dr. Rajendra Poddar, Director &  Prof. B. Y. Bandivaddar, both from WALMI, Dharwad were the resource persons. Practising Civil Engineers, Architects, Students and faculties of Civil & Architecture Department attended the workshop.
  1. A webinar on “Rate Analysis and Cost Estimation of Two Lane Road” was arranged on 18th July 2021. Mr. Om Prakash Yadav, Quantity Survey Engineer, Louis Berger International Consulting Pvt. Ltd, Delhi was the resource person. Practising Civil Engineers, Students and faculties of Civil Engineering Department participated in the webinar. Mr. A S Bagi, Mr. A B Patil, Mr. P M Kinagi were the Coordinators.
  2. A webinar on “Building Information Modelling for Construction” was arranged on 2nd July 2021. Mr. Jayatheertha K Kagalkar Presales Consultant, Logicom Trading & Distribution, Doha, Qatar was the resource person. Practising Civil Engineers, Architects, Students and faculties of Civil & Architecture Department attended the webinar.
  3. AICTE sponsored one week STTPs for which a grant of Four lakh rupees was received for three short term training programs.
    1.   “Wastewater- Untapped Resource for next generation” was organized from 2nd to 7th Nov 2020.
    2. “Solid Waste- A hidden treasure in reality” was organized from  23rd to 28th November 2020.
    3. “Air Pollution Control- A hidden treasure in reality” was organized from  23rd to 28th December 2020.
  4. A Webinar “Emerging Trends in FEM & it’s application in Industry” was arranged for 5th, 7th & M.Tech students on 20th October 2020. Mr. Vijayvittal Illal, Director, CADVISION R & D, Bangaluru was the resource person. Mr. P.M. Biradar, Mr. M. Q. Patel & Mr. A. S. Bagi were the coordinators.
  5. One-week online workshop on “Introduction to Google sketch up and its application in Civil Engineering” was arranged for 5th and 7th semester students from 7th to 11th September 2020.  Around 60 students had participated in the work shop. Content of workshop was formulated by Huttanagoudar, Asst. Engineer, Irrigation department Dharwad. Mr. M. B. Ishwaragol, Mr. .N. S. Inamdar, & Mr. S. A. Warad were the Staff Coordinators.
  6. A short term course on “Campus to Construction” was arranged for 8th semester students during 12th July to 24th July 2020. Mr. M. Q. Patel & Mr. A. S. Bagi were the coordinators.
  1. A Webinar on “Role of IQAC in Institutes of Higher Education” was arranged on 22nd June 2020 for the Faculty members of various institutes. Asif Momin was the coordinator.
  2. A Webinar on “International webinar series in Civil Engineering” was arranged on 15th to 17th June 2020 for the Students and Faculty members of Civil Engineering department of various institutes. Dr S.G.Patil and Mr A.B.Patil were the coordinators.
  3. A Webinar on “Concrete mix proportion as per is 10262:2019” was arranged on 15th June 2020 for Final Year students. Mr P.M Biradar and Mr S.B.Talwar were coordinators.
  4. Training on “Analysis and Design of Residential Building using Staad-Pro” was arranged on 11th to 12th June 2020 for Final Year students. Mr P.M Biradar and Mr S.A.Warad were coordinators.
  5. International webinar on “Application of inverse modelling and GIS in water resources engineering” was arranged on 9th to 10th June 2020 for Students and Faculty members of Civil Engineering department of various institutes. Mr P.M Topalkatti and Mr S.M Patil were coordinators.
  6. E Quiz on “Environment and Sustainability” was arranged on 5th June 2020 for all civil engineering students. Mrs A. S Arwikar was the coordinator
  7. A 30 hour Pre Placement Training on “Building Bye-Laws & Estimate” was organized from 13th to 28th March 2020 for the 8th semester students. A three days Training program on “Basics of QGIS Software & Mobile Mapping” was organized for students on March 2020 Prof.Shashank Bangi, Assistant Professor, KLS GOgte Institute of Technology, Belgavi & Mr. Abhlash R , Research Scientist, National Institute of Hydrology, Belgavi were the resource persons. Mr. Prashant Topalkatti was the coordinator.
  9. A training program for 5th& 7th semester civil engineering students on “Practical applications of Concrete Technology” was arranged on 19th& 20th Sept 2019. Mr. Vasudev Murty was the resource person and Mr S.A.Warad was the coordinators.
  10. A Bridge course for 3rd sem students was organized on 5th to 7th August 2019. Mr P.M. Biradar was the coordinators.
  1. A training program for 5th & 7th semester civil engineering students on “Practical applications of Concrete Technology” was arranged on 28th & 29th Sept 2018. Mr. Vasudev Murty was the resource person.
  2. “Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)  Awareness Program” was held on 27th September 2018.  In order to bring awareness regarding IPR, the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) and Ericsson had jointly launched Intellectual Property Talent search examination for under graduate students and in this regard Mr Abubhkar Bagawan, SPOC for the program presented the details of IPR and encouraged the students for registration for the exam. All Civil Engineering students attended the program.
  3. IPR cell of the Institute under the activity of Technology transfer, organized an awareness talk on the project, “Living Roof” – the future is alive (Patent Application No: 201841043084) on 19th April 2019. Members from Association of Consulting Civil Engineers were invited. Mansoor Ali Dhundasi, our student presented his project idea and highlighted the advantages of the project.
  4. One day seminar was organized on Rain Water Harvesting methods& Soil health monitoring on 22nd February 2019. Mr. S A Warad & Mr. S P Wathar were the coordinators. Dr. Shirahatti & Dr.G R Rajakumar were the resource persons.
  5. A 5-Day training program on “Advanced Survey using Total Station & Drone” was organized in association with VTU Belagavi, Aryabhatta Knowledge University, Patna, Bihar & Biju Patnaik University of Technology, Rourkele, Odisha from 27th to 31st July 2019. This program got a sanction of Rs. 3,00,000.00 from VTU & the program coordinators were Mrs. Shridevi Angadi, HOD, Civil Engg department & Mr. Prashant Topalkatti. The resourse persons were Prof. K.Ananthnarayana, Associate  Prof, IIT Madras, Prof.Dasharat Kolur, Asst Prof PDA Gulbarga, Prof.Shashikant V Kambali, Asst Prof BEC Bagalkot, Mr. Kumaraswamy, Swastik Consultancy, Bagalkot, Mr.Bharat.B.V, GM Seven craft pvt ltd group, Prof.Shashank.C.Bangi, Asst Prof, GIT Belagavi, Mr.Neel Sagar, Technical person ALPHA DRONE Technology, Bangalore.
  1. Department of Civil Engineering inaugurated Centre of Excellence in Rural Rejuvenation on 9th September 2017. Dr. D. R. Dodagouder, Professor, IIT Chennai was the chief guest  Mr. S. A. Warad & Mr. S.P. Wathar were the coordinator.
  2. A three day workshop “Campus to  Construction Industry” was organized in collaboration with Association of Consulting Civil Engineers on 3rd to 5th Nov 2017. Ar. Satish Naduvinmani, Shri Ravinandan Punashetty, Shri Arun Sarasambi, Shri Ashok Jamakhandi, Shri Arun Math, & Shri Veeresh Gonal were the resource persons. Eleven sessions covering a wide range of topics like Architecture Planning, Construction Materials, Flooring, Contracts & Tendering, Electrical works, Painting, Plumbing works, Practical difficulties in construction & Lineout of Residential Building were held. The participants were taken to site on the third day.
  3. A two day workshop on “Tall Building Designing using STAADPRO” was organized from 20th to 21st  March 2018.Mr. P. M. Biradar, was the coordinator of the programe. Mr. James Vanier of Indian Tech Group, Mumbai was the resourse Person. Mr.Bharat Patil and Mr.Keshav Katti were the Student Coordinators.
  4. A three day Industry sponsored workshop was organized on “Use of Alternative Sand” from 2nd April to 4th April 2018. Er. A.M. Guddodagi was the guest of honour & Er. Ashok Teddy of Ultra Tech Cements was the Chief guest. Practicing Civil Engineers, PG students & staff of the department attended the workshop.
