  1. Dr. A. S. Tanksali received funding from KBITS for student projects under NAIN 2.0, with a grant of ₹4.00 lakh for the project titled “Manufacturing of Eco-Friendly Paint Using Cow Dung.”
  2. Prof. Manjunath Ishwaragol received funding from KBITS for student projects under NAIN 2.0, with a grant of ₹3 lakh for the project titled “Biochar - Based Negative Carbon Concrete: Optimizing Environmental Performance with Sensor Technology.”

  12. The fifth-semester students organized a Freshers' Day celebration to warmly welcome the third-semester students. As part of the event, they planned various themed days, including Traditional Day, Jeans Day, and White Day, to create an engaging and enjoyable experience for their juniors. Additionally, they arranged a series of games, with prizes to be awarded to the winners on the final day of the event. The celebration concluded with a formal function, followed by a dinner for the fresher’s.

  13. After years of dedicated service, Mr. Umesh N. Karadi, an Associate Professor from our department, retired on 31/07/2024. The Department of Civil Engineering organized a superannuation function to honor Mr. Umesh N. Karadi. During the function staff members shared their views about Mr. U.N. Karadi. We extend our heartfelt appreciation for his unwavering commitment, exceptional teaching, and invaluable contributions to our department. All staff members wished him a retirement filled with fulfillment and joy.

Staffs and Students from Dept. of Architecture and Civil Engineering have participated, cleaned the Bowdi and planted the trees.

  16. In observance of World Environment Day, the Department of Civil Engineering, in association with the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) Vijayapura, initiated a cleaning program. Our fourth-semester students participated in the program, cleaning the surroundings of the Amogha Siddeshwara Temple in Arakeri, Tikota Taluk.

  38. Two student project proposals were approved by KSCST for the academic year 2019-2020.

    (i) “Controlled Farming of Vegetables by Aquaponics” received a grant of Rs.5500.00 guided by Mrs. Anuradha Tanksali.

    (ii)“Design & Model preparation of rain water harvesting for the protected monuments” of Vijayapur city- A case study received a grant of Rs.4000.00 guided by Dr. Asif Momin.


  39. Miss Sayeda Iram Quadri of 8th semester was selected as Women Cultural Secretary for the academic year 19-20, on 24th February 2020.
  40. Mr. Tabarez & Miss. Akshata Jain of 5th Semester won 1st prize with Rs. 15,000 cash in Regional level Project Exhibition “Anveshan” held at Hubli on 16th January 2020. It was guided by Mrs. Anuradha Tanksali.

Mr. Vijayakumar Biradar, Mr.Vinod Ningapur, Gururaj Hiremath & Bharat Hiremath of 7th semester won third prize in “Bridge your way” competition during the International level Civil Engineering Student’s Tech Symposium, NIRMAAN ICESS 2019 at BMS College og Engineering Bengaluru on 9th-10th November 2019.

  42. Miss Sayeda Iram Quadri of 7th semester won Silver medal  in Debate competition in 20th VTU youth festival “INSIGNIA” held at SDM College of Engineering & Technology Dharwad during 6th to 9th November 2019.


  43. Miss Sayeda Iram Quadri secured first place in the elocation competition by presenting her thoughts on the topic “ An Ideal Teacher”. This competition was organized on the occasion of Teacher’s day by MCA & Automobile department of our college.
  44. Mr. Rajesh Sandimani, of 3rd semester participated as a player in the Srilanka-India International Cestoball Championship for Men & Women at Katunayaka Outdoor Stadium, Bandarkani, Colombo, Srilanka from 23rd  to 24th September 2019. His team secured winner Position.

  46. The Fresher day was organised for welcoming the 3rd semester students on 5th August 2019. The HOD of Civil Engg department welcomed the students & gave a brief introduction about the department. Mrs Asha Arwikar Coordinator for Counseling spoke about the counseling process & Academic coordinator Prof R G Talasdar addressed the students.

  47. Mr. Nikhil Jalapur secured 5th rank in the exams conducted by VTU Belgavi during 2018-19. He received the rank certificate at 19th convocation of VTU on 8th February 2020. He was felicitated by Dr. M B. Patil, our honorable President of BLDE Association.

  1. The 4th Semester Students visited Nirmiti Kendra and Barishpur on December 13, 2024, to gain practical insights into innovative construction techniques and sustainable building practices.

  2. On 11th July 2024, the 6th semester students had the opportunity to visit ACC Cement Wadi, one of the largest cement plants in India. The industrial visit provided valuable insights into the cement manufacturing process, including raw material handling, clinker production, and energy-efficient practices.

  3. An industrial visit was organized for the 3rd-semester students to the Alamatti Dam site and Kolar Water Treatment Plant on 8th February 2024. The visit provided students with practical insights into large-scale water management systems and dam operations, as well as an in-depth understanding of water treatment processes. This hands-on experience aimed to enhance their theoretical knowledge with real-world applications, fostering a deeper appreciation for the complexities of civil engineering infrastructure.

It was developed by our student, Mr. Mansoor Ali Dhundasi under the guidance of Dr. (Mrs.) Anuradha S. Tanksali, Associate Professor of Department of Civil Engineering. The patented technology deals with eco-friendly, sustainable concept of green roof which helps in reducing the room temperature and enhances the aesthetic view of the buildings.   14. Mrs A S Arwikar, Associate Professor retired on 31st December 2022 after completing 33 years of service. He joined the institute in September 1986. Mrs. A S Arwikar's legacy as a dedicated teacher and a fine human being will undoubtedly continue to inspire those who knew her. The institute and her colleagues will surely miss her presence, but her contributions will be remembered for years to come.

  19. “Earth Day” was celebrated on 22-04-2022 by Department of Civil Engineering in association with Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB), Vijayapur. ” Shade Mother Earth” activity was performed by distributing tree saplings and organic manure to residents of Aishwarya nagar. The activity was initiated by Principal and Vice Principal. Faculties and students of the department actively involved in the activity.





  21. Dr . Naveen Desai was awarded the Doctorate by VTU Belagavi, for his thesis “Performance of synthesized Nano materials for the removal of organic & inorganic constituents from land fill leachates”.

  22. Department Advisory Board Meeting was held on 29th December 2021. The following committee members participated in the discussion regarding improvement in Placement, Higher Education, Industry Institute Interaction, Research, Admission, & Foreign Collaboration. Dr. G R Doddagouder, IIT Chennai, Dr. S. S. Patil, WIT Solapur, Er. S V Sakkri, Er. Udaya Awaradi from Construction Industry, Vikram Runwal, Mr. Manjunath & Mr. Abhishek Pathak, alumnus of the department interacted with the staff & HOD & gave valuable inputs.

  23. The department of Civil Engineering in association with Karnataka State Pollution Control Board organized Free Emission Testing for all the vehicles in the college campus on 22nd December 2021.

  24. The department of Civil Engineering in association with JK Cement ltd, Belgaum organized a Mason’s Training Program on 20th December 2021.  Twenty one Masons participated in the program. Mr S A Warad, & Mr. Praveen Biradar were the resourse persons.

  25. Two online Parents meet was organized on 9th September 2021 & 16th December 2021. HOD of Civil Engineering department Dr. Naveen Desai highlighted the developments & achievements of the department. The interaction with parents was regarding Online classes, Student health during the pandemic, Placement & Future opportunities.

  26. On the occasion of “National pollution Control Day December 2021”the department of Civil Engineering in association with the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board, Vijayapur organized painting & speech competition on 10th December 2021.

  27. On the occasion of vigilance awareness week, the staff and students of Civil Engineering Department took Integrity pledge for citizens on 3rd December 2021. This Pledge was for promoting integrity, eradicating corruption & to incorporate the values ​​of transparency, equality and fairness in public administration.

  28. Online Alumni meet was organized on 27th November 2021 for 2006-2010 batch. Many alumnus working in reputed companies like ACOM Aviation, Iron & Steel Company, Tata Consultancy, URC Constructions etc interacted with the faculty regarding internships, placement, guest lectures & training programs.

  29. Constitution Day also known as ‘Samvidhan Divas’, is celebrated in our country on 26th November every year to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India. Constitution Day of India aims to bring awareness on the importance of the Indian Constitution and its architect, Dr B R Ambedkar. On this occasion staff & students of Civil Engineering department took an oath by reading the Preamble of the Constitution of India.

  30. Under the Deshpande Foundation’s YUVA Entrepreneurship Program,  one day training was organized for final year students on November 2021. Shri. Vinay Ghodke, Senior Executive, Deshpande Startups was the resource person.

  31. Mr Praveen Hosmani of 4th Semester paticipated in “Kalavikas” a  Karnataka State level painting camp jointly organized by Karnataka state Kannada & Culture Department & Vishwakarma Arts Creations, Lokapur  during 2nd to 4th August 2021 at Lingasur. His painting was highly appreciated.

  32. The final year students have received the best project award for the year 2021 in the 44th series of KSCST Project competition. Their project titled “Plastic Pavement Blocks” was guided by Dr. Asif Momin.

  33. Mr Praveen Hosmani participated in National level Art Camp “Kala Sanskranti” conducted by Vishwakarma Art Creations, Lokapur in collaboration with Ministry of Culture, Government of India. This camp was organized from 12th to 14th November 2021. His painting was appreciated by all the art lovers who visited the camp.

  34. Memorandam of Understanding was signed between Civil Engineering department & Tech Mantra, AutoDesk authorized Training Centre & Learning Partner, Certiport Authorised Testing Centre, MSME accredited Company, Vijayapur on 27th October 2021. The company will provide training of CAD software, conduct seminars, presentations, workshops & internship programs on CAD software.

  35. Under Rural Rejuvenation program an awareness program on “Health, Hygiene & Housing” was organized at Siddapur Village on 18th September 2021. Dr. Naveen Dsai, Mrs. Asha Arwikar, Mr. SA Warad, Mr. Raju Lokhande, Mr. Talawar talked about Health, Hygiene & Housing to create awareness amongst the villagers. Students of 5th & 7th semester also interacted with the villagers.

  36. Engineer’s Day was celebrated on 15th September 2021 to mark the birthday of Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya.

  37. Memorandam of Understanding was signed between Civil Engineering department & M/s EI Technologies Pvt Ltd, Bangaluru on 12th July 2021. It was established realizing the need to focus on technology enabled innovative & holistic Engineering & IT solutions. This MOU is for collaboration between both the parties for mutual benefit for the many purposes of projects and research to serve the society. This MOU is valid for 5 years.

  38. A “MOU” was made on 10th June 2021 for a period of 5 years between Civil Engineering Department & VANS Chemistry Pvt Ltd, Singapore. It is  an Integrated and Unique E-Resource (eWaste) Recycling Company in Asia Pacific head quartered in Singapore.

  39. Two projects are approved for sponsorship by KSCST . “Plastic Pavement Blocks” –Guide Dr. Asif Momin. “Removal of COD & Colour from Sugar Industry Waste Water by photocatalysis”– Guide Dr. Naveen Desai.

  40. Mr. S.J Nagathan, Associate Professor retired in August 2021 after completing 35 years of service. He joined the institute in September 1986 He will be remembered as a dedicated teacher & a fine human being.

  41. The Project “Controlled Farming of Vegetables by Aquaponics” presented in Agastya International Foundation won second consolation prize out of 41 teams among the South Zone. The project was guided by Mrs. Anuradha Tankasali. Two students of 7th semester, Mr. Shivakumar Tuppad & Mr. Vinay Koti & two school students of Government High School were in the team.

  42. Mrs. Shridevi Angadi, retired on 31st December 2020. She served for a long period of 35 years from 1985 at different positions. She was the HOD of Civil Engineering department from 2012 to 2020. She was felicitated in the department on 31st December 2020 & will be remembered as a dedicated & committed worker & a finest HOD of Civil Engineering Department.

  43. Online Department advisory Board meeting was conducted on 29th December 2020.

  44. MOU with Association of Consulting Civil Engineers was renewed on 28th December 2020. Shri. Ashok Runwal, & Shri.S. S. Hiremath, Prof. Naveen Desai, HOD, Civil Engineering Department, Prof. P.M. Biradar & Mrs. Anuradha Tankasali were present during the meeting.

  45. Online “Parents meet” was organized on 19th December 2020. HOD of Civil Engineering department highlighted the achievements of the department. Mr. Sandeep Wathar briefed about the AICTE activity points.

  46. Shri. B R. Veerabhadraiah, Chief Engineer, State Highway Development Project, Bangalore,   Shri. Shivanand. M, Govt Civil Contractor, Vijayapur,  & Shri Ramakant. V Baheti, MD, Srikant Motors, Vijayapur, “Alumni of batch 1989-1990” visited the Civil department   on 5th December 2020 interacted with the faculty and discussed regarding Placement, academics and the present expectation of industries.

  47. Online “Alumni Meet” was organised on 9th Sept 2020 for the Alumni graduated during the years 2001 to 2005 & on 24th October 2020 for 1991 to 2000 batch.
  48. On 23rd July 2020, National Highways Authority of India and BLDEA’s VP Dr. P. G. Halakatti College of Engineering and Technology, Vijayapur executed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and are desirous of working together with mutual cooperation for Dissemination of respective expertise in Civil/Highway Engineering field through the Road Infrastructure Development in Gulbarga,  Vijayapur thereby entire India. Mr. Furtedo, Project Director, NHAI and Dr. Atul Ayare, Principal,  BLDEACET exchanged MoU today at BLDEA’s Technical Campus at Vijayapur. Mr. Pradeep Hiremath,  Project Manager,  NHAI, Dr. Malaji, Vice Principal, R and D,  BLDEACET, Mr. Naveen Desai, HOD Civil Engineering, Dr. Geetanjali Patil,  HOD,  Mechanical Engineering, Mr. Prashant Patil, Training and Placement Officer of BLDEACET were present during such exchange. National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) intends to associate with BLDEACET who shall voluntarily contribute its share of Experience for Betterment of the Highway Infrastructure


  49. Teachers Day was Celebrated in the department on 5th September 2019.
  50. A MOU was signed on 01-09-2019 between civil engineering department & Karthik Industries and Kiran Stone Crushers for providing support both academically and financially by allowing final year students for internship and sponsoring Workshops/ STTPs/ FDPs for staff members/ students / consulting Engineers.  Er. A. M. Goddodogi, Proprietor of the company was present during the agreement. The duration of this agreement will be for a period of 5 years.
