About the Department

Recently, Data Science is in high demand because every organization increasingly relies on data-driven decision-making to improve efficiency, predict trends, and gain a competitive edge. Hence it is making data scientists crucial for extracting valuable insights from vast datasets.

BLDEAS V. P. Dr. P G. Halakatti College of Engineering and Technology, Vijayapura(BLDEACET) has offered the New Four  Year  Under Graduate(UG) program  “Computer Science and Engineering (Data Science)” in the year 2023 with intake 60. The major focus of Computer Science & Engineering (Data Science) program is to equip students with Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Statistical, Mathematical Reasoning, Knowledge Discovery, and Visualization Skills.

At the end of the course the graduates will gain cross disciplinary skills across fields such as Computer Science, Statistics, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning. The career opportunities for Data Science professionals are vast in IT sectors like healthcare, business, ecommerce, social networking companies, climatology, biotechnology, banking, genetics, and other important areas and include roles such as Data Scientist, Data Analyst, Machine Learning Engineer, Research Scientist, Business Intelligence Developer, Full Stack Developer, and Software Architect.
