The faculty members of the department are actively involved in various research activities. The Department has four Ph.D. guides. Department has VTU recognized Research centre for conducting Ph.D. programs. At present 10 scholars are pursuing their Ph.D. and four (4) scholars are completed Ph.D. program. The Department helps the students in their project work. It also supports the research scholars of various departments in solving numerous mathematical problems.

The major areas of research are Fluid Mechanics, Bio-fluid Mechanics, Mathematical modelling, General and Fuzzy Topology, Extended fuzzy sets, Fuzzy automata.
