Department of Chemistry
The foundation of technology is based on Science. Without strong platform of scientific acumen, pillars of the technology will not sustain for a long time. Science of today is technology of tomorrow. The Department of Chemistry is one of the pillars of Basic Science curriculum of Engineering course. This department is principally involved teaching Engineering Chemistry to the undergraduate students of all branches of B.E. programme under VTU. The Department possess required undergraduate infrastructure as per the recommendation of VTU. The Department has well equipped, illuminated and modern practical laboratory. Under the guidance of expert faculty members the practical ad theoretical understanding of the subject are imparted to students. It is a disciplined department as per the teaching and interaction with students concern. The Dept of Chemistry takes utmost care to provide quality education and satisfaction to its maximum for every student through counseling.
Currently the department is having three faculty members headed by a doctorate. Another faculty member is pursuing Ph.D. under VTU. The Department has also applied to VTU for upgradation as a research center. A team of experts visited the dept for the same purpose and the result is awaited. The faculty members are routinely involved/participated in various academic and cultural activities in the Institution including attending/presenting scientific papers in national seminars and conferences.
