DEPARTMENT OF ELECTRICAL & ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING
Electrical Engineering Department is one of the basic engineering departments established in the year September 1980 i.e. since the inception of this esteemed engineering educational institute. The Electrical Engineering Department was handed by Prof.K.A.Koppal who also served as vice principal of the same college for some period. He had very wide experience in the field of Electrical & Mechanical Engineering and contributed in the Electrical Establishment for the college campus.
Presently the department is headed by the Dr.Shobha R.Savanur. She completed her Ph.D. from premier institute, National Aerospace Laboratories (NAL), Bangalore. The department has well qualified teaching staff, with most of the staff having post graduate degree. Average experience of teaching staff is more than 14 years. Supporting technical staffs of the department are all well qualified, trained, with an average experience of nearly 20 years. The infrastructure of the department is good as per the requirements of AICTE Delhi and VTU Belgaum. Department has well equipped laboratories. Departmental library has sufficient number of Books. Department has its independent computer centre with internet facilities, sufficient number of PCs and accessories. Department has a students association under the name ‘EESA” in order to encourage the students in technical as well as extra curricular activities.
Many of our students have excelled academically securing ranks to the university, presenting papers in national level competitions and winning prizes in national level project exhibitions. Academic Guidance, Counseling and Mentoring services are provided to the students in the Department.
Our students are selected through campus interview in reputed companies and our alumni are well placed in public and government sectors. Distinguished alumni occupy high posts and are invited for guest lectures.
